Jay Barron, Artsplan Development Manager and Artsplan Trainer
Previously Community Officer for Hampshire County Council Jay is now Artswork’s Artsplan Development Manager. Having worked as Project Co ordinator on various arts projects, Jay has a wide range of experience and understanding for working with young people in the arts. Jay has direct project experience with young people through having worked for Art Asia, Southampton Mela Festival, the Gantry Youth Theatre, 17 community centres across Fareham and Gosport and is a private flute tutor and on occasion a freelance event co ordinator.
Jay has extensive experience in developing and nurturing partnerships both in the cultural and business sector. Experience of developing cultural sector sponsorship is a true forte as well as a wealth of experience and success with local, regional and national funding bodies.
Voluntary Placement Programmes are very close to Jay’s heart, after having developed very effective relationships with the voluntary sector. She has worked very hard to develop Artswork’s current Internship Programme, which continues to thrive.
