Kerry Tuhill, Artsplan Trainer
Kerry is a Freelance Drama Worker based in Manchester. She has worked across the North West with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities.
Kerry works on a regular basis for a number of organisations: TiPP; Contact Theatre; Manchester Museum; CAN (Community Arts North West), Library Theatre Community and Education and others.
Her work for these companies encompasses the devising and delivery of both short and long term projects for primary and secondary schools; youth theatres; young people in secure units; juvenile centres and young offenders institutions; adult prisons and probation centres.
In particular her projects for Contact Theatre, CAN (Exodus programme) and TiPP have involved work with young people and adults for whom English is a second language. These include Asylum Seekers and Refugees, as well as students of English from abroad.
Experience of training others includes :
- Delivery of TiPP’s ‘Blagg!’ (drama-based offending behaviour programme) to YOT, Probation, Social and Youth Workers.
- Tutoring Drama Courses for Young People not in Full Time Education.
- Devising, delivering and gaining OCN accreditation for a Drama in Youth Work Course.
- Design and implementation of Drama Sessions for Youth and Community Workers in Dublin.
- Mentoring of BA and MA students in Applied Theatre at the University of Manchester.
- Associate Lecturer in Community Theatre at Manchester Metropolitan University.
