Lesley Wood, Artsplan Trainer
Lesley Wood is a freelance writer in education, project manager, facilitator and drama practitioner.
After completing a Sheffield University degree in Performing Arts Lesley has gone on to work extensively both as a community artist and artist in education. She was recently asked by a North-eastern HMP to create and deliver an accredited creative writing and drama course for inmates and has wide-ranging experience of working with hard to reach groups, and groups within the youth justice system. Previous roles have included Artistic Director and Development Manager for local theatre companies, and have involved her in project management, fundraising, budgeting, marketing and strategic development. Lesley has worked as a writer in residence for over a dozen local schools and has delivered numerous drama projects using techniques such as Mantle of the Expert and Forum Theatre. Prior to this Lesley worked as an FE lecturer, teaching creative writing, drama, set design, and mask and prop making.
Lesley has recently accepted a Creative Agents role with Creative Partnerships.
