Maxine Lawrence, Artsplan Trainer
Maxine describes herself as a ‘Creative Therapist’ and is also a practising artist working on many community based arts projects. She has worked in various sectors of the community enabling others to participate in art making but has worked mostly with young people.
In her role at the Youth Offending Team, Maxine works with often very disaffected young people, on creative reparation projects and as a support worker she includes art making in the supportive and therapeutic work undertaken with young people at risk of offending. Through this work she is in contact with many other agencies that work with young people and is always striving to add status and promote the very positive role arts participation can have in the lives of young people.
