Developing Cultural Diversity
APT/DCD- LEVEL 2
This one day course explores the variety of cultural diversity within Britain. Starting with a definition of “cultural diversity” this session will briefly look at the Afro-Caribbean, Asian and Chinese cultures, and their involvement with the arts. It will suggest ways to identify cultural groups within your own community and explore the way in which religion can be used as a vehicle to engage some culturally diverse communities within the arts. Using case study examples of culturally diverse arts projects within the UK to inspire and enthuse, the course will identify the skills and knowledge needed to deliver a successful culturally diverse youth arts project.
