ENYAN (English National Youth Arts Network) is a membership body designed to create connections throughout the diverse youth arts sector and aims to raise the profile and support for youth arts within England, and by doing so create more opportunities for the creative and personal development of young people, especially young people at risk.
Through ongoing consultation with the diverse youth arts sector, ENYAN will be delivered across four main services and activities:
- The ENYAN website: Internet based information services, resources and advice, including Upstart online magazine. w: www.enyan.co.uk
- A national programme of professional development: Promoting information on youth arts CPD and career opportunities, including Artswork’s Artsplan department * A national forum for advocacy and lobbying: uniting, strengthening and giving voice to the sector, including an annual campaign
- Regional development: national and regional forums building and supporting the regional youth arts development infrastructure across England; regional training centres and networking events; advocating for the creation of new networks where they do not currently exist.
Over the next 2 years ENYAN will deliver one seminar networking event in each region across the country, deliver 2 national campaigns, continue to co-ordinate the 9 Regional Advisory Panels (RAPs) and National Steering Group, develop UK-wide and international youth arts relationships, deliver a national youth arts symposium in the network’s third year, deliver and promote training courses across the country and continue to provide advise and support for practitioners via the website. Additional events and research may also be undertaken to respond to the sector as it develops.
ENYAN membership is completely FREE and is for anyone that works with or for young people in the arts and creative industries. It is also a great tool for anyone working in the youth services sector who takes, or would like to take, a creative approach to their work.
