ENYAN

ENYAN (English National Youth Arts Network) is a membership body designed to create connections throughout the diverse youth arts sector and aims to raise the profile and support for youth arts within England, and by doing so create more opportunities for the creative and personal development of young people, especially young people at risk.

Through ongoing consultation with the diverse youth arts sector, ENYAN will be delivered across four main services and activities:

  • The ENYAN website: Internet based information services, resources and advice, including Upstart online magazine. w: www.enyan.co.uk
  • A national programme of professional development: Promoting information on youth arts CPD and career opportunities, including Artswork’s Artsplan department
  • A national forum for advocacy and lobbying: uniting, strengthening and giving voice to the sector, including an annual campaign
  • Regional development: national and regional forums building and supporting the regional youth arts development infrastructure across England; regional training centres and networking events; advocating for the creation of new networks where they do not currently exist.

From time to time ENYAN works in partnership to deliver regional networking events across the country and has delivered three national conferences to date. ENYAN also consults with the sector and undertakes national campaigns. The network co-ordinates 9 Regional Advisory Panels (RAPs) of youth arts specialists and a National Steering Group. UK-wide and international youth arts relationships are developed. Through the in-house training department ‘Artsplan’ we deliver and promote training courses across the country and continue to provide advice and support for practitioners via the website. Additional events and research may also be undertaken to respond to the sector as it develops.

ENYAN membership is completely FREE and is for anyone that works with or for young people in the arts and creative industries. It is also a great tool for anyone working in the youth services sector who is interested in creative approaches to their work. We currently have over 4500 members across England, the UK and even as far a field as Tokyo! You can sign up as a member by visiting the web site
